During the COVID 19 pandemic restrictions, we were not able to serve our customers indoors, therefore we started offering take out service.

Now that the restrictions are lifted and business has gone back to normal, we regret to inform you that we are no longer serving take out.

Dining at Sushi Bar Maumi is an experience.

1. Cancellation
Please be advised that cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled pick-up time via [Contact us] will be processed without a cancellation fee.
However, cancellations made 5 hours or less before your scheduled pick-up time will be subject to a charge of 100% cancellation fee.

2. Order error
If you received an order that is different from your receipt, please send us a message via the [Contact us] section on our website. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

3. Refund
We send refunds immediately upon cancellation. However, It usually takes 7-10 business days for the refunds to appear on your end.

Top graded sea urchin from Vancouver is served with handmade boiled soy sauce (nikiri shoyu: bonito flakes, dried kelp, soy sauce, mirin aka sweet cooking rice wine, and sake). Also, Alaskan salmon roes we have selected are well-known for their top-class quality and grading worldwide. Both donburis are served with our speciality sushi rice in a traditional Japanese wooden sheet container (wappa) which has a great moisture control. This donburi consists of of 2 pieces of local sea urchin (uni) from Vancouver, 2 pieces of spotted prawn from Canada, 2 pieces each of fatty bluefin tuna and lean bluefin tuna that are aged to enhance the umami flavours using Edomae techniques, and Alaskan salmon roe (ikura) which are well-known for its top-class quality and grading worldwide. The highly graded local sea urchin is served with handmade boiled soy sauce (nikiri shoyu) which is created, especially to enhance the umami flavour. Spotted prawns from here in Canada is served with special salt (mojio) made from seaweed called sargassum. This salt has smooth and mellow mouthfeel which emphasizes the delicate and subtle sweetness of spotted prawns. The heads of the prawns are steamed with sake to trap the umami flavours inside. This menu is served in a traditional Japanese wooden sheet container (wappa) which has a great moisture control.
